COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update
Mar 16, 2020:
This important message is being sent after much thought and discussion among the Morton Township Board of Trustees. We are keeping the entire community’s best interest at the forefront of this decision. In an effort to lessen the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) the Board of Trustees are modifying operations. We will operate as follows until further notice:
• Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17 the Township office will be closed to walk in traffic. We will only take appointments until further notice. Residents need to make an appointment by calling 231.972.7138. We are hoping the majority of Township business can be conducted online or over the phone. We have a drop box available near the front door for any paperwork.
• No public meetings will be held at this time.
• Recycling will continue to be open on Saturday mornings, but we ask that you stay in your vehicle and let our staff unload your items.
This action is not taken lightly, however the Board of Trustees feel that it is in the best interest of the Township staff and residents. We appreciate your patience during this time and your understanding with the steps we are taking to assist in keeping our residents and staff safe and healthy.
