COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update – 5/28/2020
To comply with Governor Whitmer’s directive, the Morton Township Offices will continue to be closed to the public until further notice.
We are keeping the entire community’s best interest at the forefront of this decision. In an effort to lessen the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) the Board of Trustees have modified operations and we will operate as follows until further notice:
• Township employees will continue to report to work for limited hours daily to perform essential township business.
• The Township offices will remain closed to the public for entrance unless an appointment is made for matters that cannot be handled over the phone, by email, fax, or mail. We have a drop box available near the front door for any paperwork.
• Pursuant to Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order No. 2020-15, Township board and committee meetings will be held electronically via Zoom until further notice. Information on how to connect to these meetings will be posted on the township website calendar and on facebook.
• Recycling is open. We ask that you stay in your vehicle if possible and allow the staff to unload your items. Recycling hours: Saturday’s, 9 am – 12 Noon, and Wednesday’s (beginning June 3 – Sept. 9) from 9 am – 12 Noon.
We appreciate your patience during this time and your understanding with the steps we are taking to assist in keeping our residents and staff safe and healthy.
