There is a special election on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023. Morton Township will be combining Precincts 1 and 2 so in-person voting will be at the Morton Township Hall, 290 West Main Street, Mecosta. A millage renewal for Mecosta Osceola Transit Authority is the only item on this ballot. For more information call 231-972-7138.
Michigan law requires that ALL voters show a picture ID. Even if election workers recognize the voter, ID is required. If the voter has no ID, or forgot to bring it to the polls, the voter must sign a brief form stating that they are not in possession of identification, and their votes are included with all others and counted on Election Day.
Picture IDs must be current and must include the person’s photo and name. They do not need to include an address.
